Kadhi ,made of yoghurt is an accompaniment with rice. It serves as a change from the routine dal which is daily cooked. This is the recipe of the South India. Here, I have used wada along with it.  Vegetables like white pumpkin or cucumber can also be used, but nothing to beat this one.

INGREDIENTS :

  • fresh grated coconut 1 cup
  • yoghurt 2 bowls (slightly sour )
  • bengal gram 1 tbsp
  • rice grains 1 tsp
  • green chilly 4
  • cumin 1/2 tsp
  • fresh coriander 1/2 bunch
  • oil for seasoning

Soak bengal and rice grains for an hour. Grind them along with coconut, coriander, cumin and green chilly to a fine paste. Keep aside.

Make seasoning in a kadai and add curry leaves and the beaten curd to it. Add required quantity of water to it and salt. The consistency should be slightly thick. Allow to boil for seven minutes. Then add the wadas to it and keep aside for sometime to soak. Kadhi with wada is ready to serve.
