Being fit and healthy is essential for all of us. It is only then we can enjoy our life. Little changes in lifestyle goes a long way, one needs to practice it regularly for a few days  and soon it becomes a habit.

Sugar is not good for health. It leads to many diseases including rise in cholesterol level. It brings in added calories. Moreover, eating sugar regularly becomes an addiction. It should be avoided by calorie conscious people and those suffering from diabetics. Sviten is a natural sweetener which has zero calories. It is made from the leaf of a plant called Stevia. It is a natural sweetener, which is in use since 200 years. It is thus safe to use by pregnant ladies, sports persons, diet conscious people, children  and those suffering from diabetes.

I received a pack of Sviten packets to use and review the product. Let me tell you, I am a calorie conscious person when it comes to the sweetness of my cup of tea.  I avoid the teaspoon of sugar each time.  This one is really a boon for me, as it is a natural product and has zero calories. It has no side effects. Moreover, it can be used by people of all age groups.



I have used it in as a tabletop sweetener in tea, juices, lemonades and dips. It is more sweet than sugar and I need to add in lesser quantity.  There is no difference in taste from sugar and this one. Lemonade was tasty and one sachet of 1 grams was more than enough for 250 ml of quantity.  It was guilt free  drink for me. I highly recommend this product to any one who want to use it. Sviten can also be used in cooking and baking. It is 300 times more sweeter than sugar


I made salsa using it and no one could make the difference.  I will be using Sviten regularly. I am sharing the recipe of the same below.


Salsa is the Spanish, Italian and Greek term for sauce, but in English speaking countries it usually refers to the Mexican cuisine and is used as a dip.






  • 2 red tomatoes
  • 1 big onion
  • 1 green chilli
  • 1/2 bunch coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 sachet sviten
  • juice of half lemon
  • salt to taste


Put all the ingredients and grind them together. Keep it in refrigerator for sometime. Serve with veggie sticks, chips, papads or tortillas.
