Ingredients
2onions
2green chilly
1/2teaspoonmethi
1/2teaspoonchilly powder
salt to taste
1+1teaspoonoil
asafoetida a pinch
1/4teaspoonurad dal
a few curry leaves
Instructions
Cut the onions into chunks.
Take oil in a pan and saute the green chilly and methi seeds. Keep them aside.
Now, saute the onions until it is translucent in colour.
Let cook. Grind them together along with chilly powder and salt.
Take a pan, add oil and put the mustard seeds. As it crackles, put asafoetida, urad dal and curry leaves. Saute for a few seconds and pour it over the prepared chutney. Red onion chutney is ready to serve.
Notes
Adjust chilly and chilly powder according to your taste.
